Minit Medical to offer first-dose Moderna vaccine appointments | News, Sports, Jobs

The Maui News

Minit Medical Urgent Care is now accepting vaccine appointments for qualified residents in Phases 1a, 1b and 1c, the clinic announced.

Minit Medical will be administering first doses of the Modern vaccine by appointment only from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at War Memorial Gym at 700 Halia Nakoa Street in Wailuku.

Residents must complete all required electronic paperwork, including adding any insurance information, uploading a picture of state ID, answering a few medical questions and reviewing and signing the consent form electronically.

“Please note, if you do not receive a confirmation text or email, this means your appointment was not confirmed,” the clinic said in a news release.

Residents should bring their state IDs and insurance cards to the appointment, as well as wear a mask, social distance at the vaccination clinic and arrive at no more than 15 minutes early. No guests are allowed in; only caregivers.

Vaccines can still be administered without insurance, though insurance will cover the full cost of the vaccine administration, Minit Medical said.

Seniors, those who struggle with English or others needing help with registration should visit War Memorial Gym between 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. today for help with registration only; no vaccines will be administered, Maui County officials said.

A Marshallese interpreter will be available, and the county is inviting Chuukese, Pohnpeian and Kosraen interpreters as well.

The Maui District Health Office also is scheduling special vaccination clinics for kupuna, the county said.

People ages 75 or older or who care for someone in this age group can call 984-3780 to book an appointment and should mention they are in the high-priority, 75-and-over age group.

Appointments are mandatory, so anyone who arrives at the special kupuna clinic without an appointment will be turned away, the county said.
