
Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge has reopened its visitor center, which has been closed for over two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The visitor center reopened on Monday, just in time for the National Wildlife Refuge System’s 119th birthday, according to a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service news release. Hours are from 12 to 3 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, with closures on federal holidays.
The center is seeking docents to talk to residents and visitors who stop by. Those who are interested can call the refuge at (808) 875-1582 or email bret_wolfe@fws.gov for more information.
Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The boardwalk is open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week, including federal holidays.
